Do you want to move to Costa Rica?

There are many reasons why you may be considering a move. You may be approaching retirement age, and would like a nice, reasonably priced place to live in a safe and healthy environment. You may be a young couple just beginning a new life together, and are looking forward to a great place to set down roots. You may be a single person wishing to venture out into an entirely different way of life; or you may be looking for a better place to raise your family than where you are now. Whoever you are and whatever your personal situation, Costa Rica can be the ideal place for your upcoming move.

While it is not mandatory, it can be very useful for you to find a residency attorney to help you with the process of becoming a resident of Costa Rica. He can let you know well in advance what documents are required and what you will need to do. Your residency attorney can also fill you in on what you are and are not allowed to do regarding work in Costa Rica. It is important that you find out if you are eligible for a work visa.

In order to become eligible for Costa Rican citizenship, you must live within the country for two years prior to applying. If this is something you wish to do, you must be able to prove your residency. A person who has elected to become a citizen will have the same status as a natural-born Costa Rican, except you will not be able to vote.

No matter what your age or personal circumstances may be, Costa Rica is a great place to live. If you are seriously contemplating a move, Costa Rica could be the place where you will love to spend the rest of your life.
