Tidbits & Real Estate News from Jaco Costa Rica – Week Oct 19-25-2009

 

Everything is moving along very well, we’re going to do some meet and greet and marketing in Las Vegas at the annual AARP convention next week.

David Karr had clients that are very interested, a group came to visit Costa Rica for this purpose Our Coldwell Banker office here in Jaco Costa Rica has 4 couples have strong interest. Lisle Head, has been working with an investor and has created a co-marketing agreement with a top Colorado realtor and two other couples are interested in Jaco Beach Wyndham suites models.

We had a sales meeting yesterday in San Jose, Costa Rica and the latest news is construction is slated to begin on December 9, 2009 and scheduled for completion December 2011

Currently the highway is under construction and they have been making great progress. The company based out of Spain is the developer and maintenance contractor for the highway is working around the clock to get this done. The word is that it will be done by the middle of next year 2010. Lisle Head said “I flew in and I could see them cutting through and working on it(highway). It seems to me that it will be finished as promised even possibly earlier.”

The project is still on track. Tommy from our Coldwell Banker Jaco office will stop by municipality of Garabito this week and get some feedback, if any.

On average real estate prices have stayed the same but you do see some big markdowns from investors who have been adversely affected by the economic conditions in the US. The good news is locally the real estate values have endured since this same period last year 2008. No depreciation in our client inventory has been noted, plus when you lock in your price for some of the developments you will have 18-24 months before closing which helps you ride out of short term pricing fluctuations but overall long term appreciation of your investment is sound.
