NOW RESIDENTS OF JACO CAN VISIT ICT WITHOUT GOING TO SAN JOSE!
Carlos Ricardo Benavides, the Minister of Tourism opened the office with an Inaugural Ceremony July 24th that officially places ICT in the Central Pacific region. The ICT Regional Office is located just south of Jaco in Quepos and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
The office of the ICT will have a total of 7 people come to work them: Secretary, Technical Maritime Terrestrial Zone, Engineers and Office Manager. This office will be receiving all kinds of documents that are related to: Tourism, Development, Blue Flag Program, the Maritime Zone and all matters related to tourism in the Central Pacific region.
Marvin Elizondo, the Mayor of Garabito has announced that the Municipality of Garabito is been working on a Mirador Project in between Jaco and Hermosa. Together with the Costa Rican Tourism Institute and the local Chamber of Commerce, the municipality will build a lookout area in between Jaco³ and Playa Hermosa for the enjoyment of local families and tourists.
The project is slighted to be about 2.5 kilometers with areas for a bicycle path, parking and commercial area. The construction phase is slighted to begin later this year.
